It can lower you cost of gasoline cost as much as 33% on the road and 5% in town. So remember when you are speeding or making those raid acceleration or braking can cost you lots in the gas tank. Being a good driver using good judgement mean safer driving for you and for others and you will also save in the pocket book on gas. Speed Limit The USA has set many regulation on cars and trucks and also on the speed limit in which we travel on the highways. Each vehicle is different because they all reach their peak fuel economy at different speeds. The fuel saving is lost in huge amounts when speeds are above 60 mph. As a rule of thumb according to www.fueleconomy.gov you can assume that each 5 miles per hour you drive over 60 mph cost you an additional $0.21 per gallon for gas. Weight of the vehicle Lots of time we carry things in the vehicle and do not take them out and the excessive weight is costing you money, an example of that is an extra 100 pounds could reduce the miles per gallon by up to 2%. This also applies to small vehicles as with vans and trucks. That again lead to $0.03 per gallon of gasoline. Idling or at a stopping place Idling is costing you for you are not going anywhere so turn the vehicle off as soon as you get to your going place, or go as soon as you get it running. Tire pressure The tire pressure of the tire is important keep the pressure at the recommended pressure. Not only for saving in fuel but for safety. Proper Gears Use the proper gear and do not let the engine over rev or under revolution in rpm. You are putting a strain on the engine and that also is a gas user. We hope some of the helpful hints will be of use to you and we will at time post us new articles of importance and also rating of some of the vehicles.
