Airline tickets
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY AIRLINE TICKETS?

Airline tickets come in many different forms. From one-way tickets to round-the-world tickets,
and from open jaw tickets to E-tickets.
Now let us explain to you what are those different types of tickets are:
Airline tickets or a paper ticket generally refers to a document created by an airline or a
travel agent to confirm that an individual has purchased a seat on an airplane. This document
is then used to obtain a boarding pass at the airport. Then with the boarding pass and the
attached ticket, the passenger is allowed to board the aircraft.
The second type is the access rail, it is a company that sells train tickets within the booking
system for air travel, for trains in Sweden, Norway , United Kingdom, Belgium and the
Netherlands. This is in first case meant to be used for combined travel air and train, for
overseas travellers, where travel agents can have difficulties selling tickets over the train
booking systems.
Then we have the boarding pass. A Boarding Pass is a document provided by an airline giving
a passenger the authority to board an aircraft. As a minimum, it identifies the passenger, the
flight number, and the date and scheduled time for departure. In some cases, flyer's can print
the boarding passes themselves. Generally a passenger with an electronic ticket will only
need a boarding pass. If a passenger has a paper airline ticket, that ticket must be attached
to the boarding pass for him or her to board the aircraft . The paper boarding pass (and ticket,
if any), or portions, are typically collected and counted for cross-check of passenger counts by
gate agents. For "connecting flights" there will be a boarding pass needed for each new
airplane boarded.
So comes
the business class....Business class is a high travel class available on some
commercial airlines and rail lines. The level of accommodation in business class is higher than
economy class and lower than first class. Business class passengers have a lavatory reserved
for their exclusive use. Recently on airplanes, first and coach passengers were barred from
visiting the business class cabin due to newly enforced security regulations. Business class
quality, service, and comfort is continually on the rise, with many airlines.
And we better not forget the continent pass (usually called something like Europe (air)pass,
Pacific pass or American (air)pass) is a product and service of an airline alliance . For a
relatively low price the traveler can travel freely using all (intra)continental flights the airline
alliance offers on that continent. There are restrictions on the number of miles and/or the
number of flights as well as the number of stops the traveler can make. Travelers can benefit
from the extensive networks airline alliances offer and can be rewarded for each mile they fly
by participating in the alliance's frequent flyer program.
E-ticket or e-ticket is the shorthand term for electronic tickets that were introduced in the
1990s. These tickets, usually for an airline flight, but sometimes used for entertainment
venues, exist only in digital form. Customers usually print out a copy of their receipt which
contains the record locator or reservation number which is in fact the E-ticket. E-tickets are a
cheaper and more efficient method for airlines to deal with tickets by eliminating the manual
tasks required to process and account for paper airline tickets . Apart from processing costs,
e-ticket also save cost for airlines in terms of the cost of paper ticket jacket, thereby, reducing
the overall distribution cost for an airline. For the traveler, it eliminates the problems and costs
that travelers experienced when they lost a paper ticket.
Economy class, also known as coach class, is the third or lowest class of seating in airline
travel. While reputed to be uncomfortable, with limited legroom and amenities, it is favored by
many travelers for offering the cheapest seats.
An open-jaw ticket is an airline ticket in which the traveler returns from a city other than the
one he or she arrived at. The trip between these two cities is then made over land, sea or
with a separately booked flight.
Round the World ticket (also known as Round the World fare or RTW ticket in short) is a
product that enables travelers and tourists to fly and travel around the world for a relatively
low price. RTW tickets have existed for some time and in the past were generally offered
through marketing agreements between airlines on several continents.
